@gmoomaw Ya, keeping sidewalks cleared and usable is important, and city can’t manage that across all neighborhoods. First few proposed changes sound productive, but blanket age exemptions and waiving responsibility during emergencies would make the whole effort for nought
@DominionEnergy found downed lines in the Fan on the Grove-side alley of the block bounded by Grove, Floyd, Shields, and Rowland. Google pin for location: https://t.co/CC7G4LS4nV
Has any Richmond planning org or @DPW_RichmondVA considered or studied converting many of the Fan’s streets to one-way traffic for cars?
Seems like many of the side streets would benefit by only having one lane of traffic and could free up space for bike lanes on bigger ones.
The idea of permanently closing Carytown’s business district to cars is nothing new. A Richmond mayoral candidate floated the idea in 2008. But after many cities closed streets during the pandemic, many locals say now’s the time for Richmond to do the same.https://t.co/0DbjWsL9BA
Project developer Wes Andrews’ @climatoonist pokes fun at climate and cleantech absurdity.

@joshm Buddy, can you work on getting @browsercompany onto Windows? Assuming it's gotta be more efficient than this two tabs in Chrome using 2 gigs of memory situation...
@DFRSH757 @yitgordon I figured. It does seem clear that the parking folks are anxious about parking up against the traffic lane and opening their driver’s side door into it, but the whole street adaption looks like a bit of a farce with current behavior. Even aside from the short length!
@DFRSH757 @yitgordon Moreover, have people who live on Patterson started parking within the designated spots yet? Last I checked, every single car parked was half in the checkered space between plastic bollards.
@myfriendclay I feel like if they say not to worry about it at all, make the bed, at least loosely. Really just looking for if they’ll let you help them skip a step (and not bullying them into doing laundry sooner than they want to do it)
