🇮🇷🇺🇸🇮🇱 After Khamenei's assassination, Iran still attempts to project strength.
4 months after a U.S.-Israeli airstrike killed Supreme Leader Khamenei on day one of the Iran war, Iran's President Pezeshkian is calling it "deep grief" and "martyrdom."
But he vows resilience: "Not the end of the road, but the beginning of a new chapter of unity."

🇪🇺 Europe set out to lead the world on cutting emissions. It forgot to prepare for the weather it's already got.
June's heatwave broke records across the continent, peaking above 40C, disrupting power, cancelling trains, and buckling rail lines. Spain linked 1,000 excess deaths to it.
The gap is in the spending. Between 2021 and 2025, 72% of the EU's climate money went to mitigation, cutting emissions, while just 18% went to adaptation, actually coping with the heat.
There's a clear business case for going green, carbon credits, cap-and-trade, renewables subsidies. Adaptation is mostly seen as a cost with payoffs that might never show up.
Just 1 day above 30C in Germany costs it an estimated 430 million euros in lost productivity, yet only half its offices have air conditioning, against 90 to 95% in southern Europe.
The continent that wrote the rulebook on stopping climate change is now learning to live inside it.
