@DeanMThomson Hard to see GB Energy as anything but a positive. Even if the planned investment is already cut back and its scope as yet undefined, its got to be good if we "Get back on the pitch" .says the original motivator @Common_Weal
@dhothersall She made the stronger point that growth needs capital investment. Something that is only in WM's gift, hasn't been forthcoming and won't be under Labour any more than it was under Tories.
@DickWinchester I also agreed with him that building a fleet of ships to bring in shale oil from the US was neither "Green" nor economical vs getting some from under our feet. Not sure the Grangemouth outcome would have been any different in the end but Sgov didn't even talk to him.
@Fergie_CJ Why did no-one give the real reason for the housing crisis? We still haven't got over Thatcher's RTB. Andy Burnham says it makes building houses like filling a bath with the plug out.

The 17th of May is Norway’s national day 🇳🇴
Full independence was a dream until June 1905 when the parliament in Oslo unilaterally revoked the union with Sweden.
“Oslo’s frustration, with its inferior role in the Union, came to a head early on in the 20th century.
“From 1903, Norwegian politics was again completely dictated by the question of revision or termination of the union… and the Norwegians again proposed legislation on their own consular system. In March 1905, [Prime Minister] Hagerup’s government was succeeded by a new coalition under Christian Michelsen, who implemented the law. King Oscar II, vetoed…. on 7th of June 1905, and the Storting decided to dissolve the union.” (Source: Den Store Danske) 🌐

@nosaidfred@AffApps@andywightman We do know that on the first round of "Levelling Up" grants, Sgov preferred the Acorn carbon capture project to sprucing up Aberdeen town centre.
Acorn is still not approved but sites in Teeside and Merseyside are well underway. The politics is obvious.
@nosaidfred@AffApps@andywightman Did you notice the Stirling complex is funded by a £19m "Levelling Up" grant from WM.
Good news for Stirling but UKG deciding what is good for us isn't how devolution should work.
The offshore wind stuff with the Chinese is so WM can claim some success with its Freeports policy
@GlasgowVotedYes@brawday@ms_king65100 Are campervans a common method of laundering the cash?
And to cases this size normally take 3 years to investigate?
