This is my story,I hope it helps
I met Janet back in 2013 while we were both at campus doing Education. I was in my final year; she was in her second. After school practice, I got a job in September 2013. Life was picking up. A year later, Janet also joined me in Soroti after completing her course. We were young, in love, and had time on our hands. Naturally, we were intimate frequently—day in, day out.
But something wasn’t right. Despite our frequent sex, she wasn’t getting pregnant.
One day, jokingly, I asked her, “Where exactly are all my missiles landing?” She laughed it off, but by 2015, I was no longer laughing. I got serious, and she did too. She went to see a gynaecologist and was diagnosed with fibroids. The doctor explained that fibroids could make getting pregnant difficult, and even if pregnancy happened, complications were likely.
We tried different advice, including one from a midwife who said we should reduce our intimacy so that my sperm could "accumulate" and increase chances. Honestly, I didn’t see the science in that, but we were desperate and tried anything.
Finally, in July 2015, Janet got pregnant. I was overjoyed. But my happiness was short-lived. Due to the fibroids, we lost the baby—a stillbirth. That pain is something I wouldn’t wish on anyone. We were back to square one, emotionally drained and uncertain.
Then came 2016. Janet met a sugar daddy and left me, saying I was too poor for her comfort. Six months later, she found out she was wife number three. Worse, the money that had impressed her turned out to be a loan the man had taken. When the money ran out, so did the fantasy.
That’s when she started calling, wanting to come back. But by then, my life had changed. I had moved on. I had twins—bouncing, healthy babies—and I told her plainly, “I have no room for you anymore.”
Message to My Fellow Men:
Fibroids are real. They silently ruin many dreams of starting a family. Before walking someone down the aisle or planning forever, get medical checks done. I say this not to shame anyone, but to help others avoid heartbreak.
Love is important. But awareness is everything.
