@Peterisrandom When she stops this, worry. It took her so long bc she doesn’t want to make you uncomfortable about her feelings, so she had to do it right before she fell asleep. It bothered her all day, and night. The first text should have been you apologizing, not stating the obvious.
AbdAllāh ibn Mas’ūd رضي الله عنه narrated: The Messenger of Allāh ﷺ said:
“The Believer does not taunt, he does not curse, he does not use profanity, and he does not abuse others.”
[Saheeh al-Jāmi’ 5381 | Shaykh al-Albāni رحمه الله | Saheeh]
“And He has granted you all that you asked Him for. If you tried to count Allah’s blessings, you would never be able to number them. Indeed humankind is truly unfair, ˹totally˺ ungrateful.”
— Al Qur’aan (14:34)
As a Muslim, if you can recite the Qur’an, I seriously advise you to try to recite Surah Al-Baqarah every day. By the will of Allah, you will definitely see its positive impact. I promise.

I honestly think this is one of the reasons the Prophet (SAW) encouraged people to marry within compatible social circles.
A man who grew up with maids and helps around the house will genuinely not see anything wrong with getting same or outsourcing for his wife. To him, that's normal.
Likewise, a woman who grew up being cared for will naturally struggle if she gets married only to discover her life became significantly harder than it ever was in her father's house.
At the very least, if marriage cannot make your life better, it really shouldn't make it worse.
Another thing that bothers me is the dishonesty with which many people, especially men, navigate marriage.
You want a woman who 💯 your partner. Fine.
You want her to have a career, make her own money, contribute financially to a responsibility Allah primarily placed on you. Fine.
But how do many of you treat such women?
You abuse the opportunity.
Some of you become comfortable because she can always cover the gaps. Some become lazy and complacent. Some start competing with her the moment she begins to do better. Others become envious and spend more energy trying to cut her down than build her up.
You want her to become a submissive provider.
Help you with your responsibilities while you sit back because, of course, you're the man.
We keep hearing how difficult it has become for men to provide.
Fair enough.
But can we also talk about what pregnancy does to a woman's body?
What childbirth does?
What years of breastfeeding, childcare and carrying the mental load of a home do?
Then on top of all that, she is expected to go out, work, support the family financially, come back home and run the house efficiently.
Most times with very little help.
Then people wonder why women are exhausted and fighting back. Who would not be exhausted from being a submissive wife, a financial partner, a homemaker, a mother, a caregiver, and in many cases, still carry the emotional labour of the marriage? while the supposed head of the family watches because, after all, "he is the man."
Personally, my idea of marriage has always been different.
If today I only have 30 to give, I hope you bring 70.
Tomorrow, if you only have 20, I'll gladly carry the remaining 80.
Not because it's my responsibility.
Not because it's yours.
But because that's what partnership looks like in my own book.
Instead, what we have now is everyone wanting to eat their cake and still have it.
Some women want a man who provides everything while bringing very little of value themselves.
Many men want a woman who brings almost everything to the table while they contribute only what is convenient.
Everybody wants sacrifice.
Very few people actually want to be the one sacrificing.
Selfish lots with different versions of selfishness.
That's what many of you are!
But I don't think we're ready for that conversation yet.
