@Ausbobsmit What will they do to cut down on government waste, increase accountability and prevent ministerial corruption and fleecing of the public coffers?
The Australian public should be treating elections like a tendering process, who can run the country for us the most efficiently.
@HeyImKillinIt@QBCCIntegrity Kirpans worn by students have a blunt blade, a blade under 8.5 cm, and a total length under 16.5cm (in NSW).
That’s could just as easily describe a butter knife.
@VaqueroDeGringo@WittyEchoes Is this really a problem in real life? That shit mostly stays online by fringe weirdos/rage baiters, at least I don’t really encounter that 🤷♂️ (in Australia).
@Batman2242 We can’t even fire a minister found guilty of stealing $10,000 of taxpayer money, they just had to pay it back, no harm no foul… one rule for workers, another for politicians.
@craigkellyAFEE … and what does that say about Australia’s apathy towards our political class when they still voted him in? None of this is really new info, he just happened to throw enough demographics the biggest bone at the last election.
@inquisitorhenry@AusPoll6 You don’t think labor can siphon money from any government project, including a 20 billion fuel reserve? Who do you think would be lining their pockets on such a project?
@QBCCIntegrity No one should boo ANZAC services but when your WTC is 5 minutes, yet you give 1 minute of silence to the fallen... the politics have shifted focus from what is important.
@AllenMo62244774@MetamateDaz The penalties for breaking the moral codes of society should be proportional to wealth. i.e $1000 for not wearing a seatbelt hits harder to 100k/y than to a 100million/y. There should also be complete transparency to wealth (or forfeiture for undeclared/hidden wealth).
@MetamateDaz "They earnt it" is one reason. In cases where there is fraud, illegality or predatory practices, penalise them. Scale penalties to a persons wealth. I.E too many times benefits of white collar crime exceed pentalties.
@stokdog Its hyperbole to say never. Fair to say renewables are not yet ready but the guiding principle should be the most economical strategy to service Australia's need. We should be using fossil fuels without ceding ground to the climate scam.
