@facebook my Black Bear Forge account was hacked and changed to โBlacksmith Worksโ. I have lost all access. The hackers show up in settings as having full control of my Facebook.
@mattkoval@petematheson Not only does Patreon take a smaller cut, but I seem to attract more Patreon Patrons than channel members. This means my net income is much better with Patreon. Plus it allows you to exist somewhere besides YouTube, just in case there's an issue with YouTube at some point.
Ended up with two YouTube videos this morning. One mentioned the other and had a link that only works if the second video is public. So enjoy the double feature.

Holland anvil swage block, clean up and building the stand coming up Sunday morning. But for my Patreon patrons the early release and ad free version is now available on Patreon.
@youtube My videos are disappearing from YouTube Studio, both desk top and mobile app. This is what shows as my most recent and there are 44 uploads since then. The videos are still available on my channel page and still getting comments but not on studio home or content tab.
New video on forging this wine rack is up on YouTube this morning. There is an ad free, sponsor free directors cut available on Zarta

@JevenDovey Other than subscriber growth, have you seen any real long term benefit? I had a single short bring in 50K new subscribers last year, a 25% increase but no increase in long form views, watch time or revenue.
The real value, for me, is in public exposure for the art and craft of blacksmithing.
If only one or two people that see my short videos pick up a hammer to explore the craft or start a blacksmithing business to feed their family, the shorts will have been worth the effort.
1.5 million shorts views on Black Bear Forge in April. Total revenue from shorts $111.86. RPM $0.08.
Shorts have value beyond earning an income, which is good because the income from shorts is pretty bad at the moment.
