Stewards enquiry on this Paraguay team. Take nothing away from the US but this has to be one of the most inept South American team performances ever at a World Cup. US made to look like Brazil 1970.
@classic_film I watched both Johnny Carson and Jay Leno as a young person and really enjoyed both. Back then Letterman and even Conan O’Brien seemed a bit snobby to me. Now as an adult, I understand their sense of humor and personalities.
In 1977, Ed McMahon bless him, was three sheets to the wind after a few too many adult beverages at lunch — leaving Johnny in an amused & bemused pickle.
THE TONIGHT SHOW STARRING JOHNNY CARSON
You gotta love the 70’s.

In the early hours of 2nd March 1986, Channel 4 showed UAP's gorgeous, expressionistic animated version of Poe's THE TELL-TALE HEART (1953), narrated by James Mason, to conclude its 'Monster Horror' season of classic fright films. It was love at first sight.
@classic_film The first movie I watched with Lauren Bacall was To Have and Have Not. I did feel she was posing more than acting. But I watched it again along with more of her movies and really did change my mind. And Dark Passage is my favorite Bogart/Bacall movie.
Will the winter never be over,
Will the dark days never go?
Must the buttercup and the clover
Be always hid under the snow?
Ah, lend me your little ear, love!
Hark! 'tis a beautiful thing;
The weariest month of the year, love,
Is shortest and nearest to spring.

@classic_film I liked the Hulk as a little girl, but I had strong kid emotions about the show. When he transformed into the Hulk, it terrified me…every episode. But then I felt really bad that he was doomed to that life. And I also worried about him finding clothes to wear all the time 💚😂
