The show I worked on for @NorthOneTV last spring has made an appearance on @discoveryplus today: Jack Osbourne’s Haunted Homecoming. I cut episode 1, a paranormal investigation into the Osbourne’s Bucks home, where Jack gets a bit more than he bargained for…

Spent my first day back in the cutting room since March 2020 today. Hated it. Tiresome commute; didn’t see anyone all day. Missed my super duper gaming chair & found out my current pair of varifocals don’t work properly if the screens are to close… 😤🫤
Frustrating first day on a new edit 🙃. Potential sound issues, Teradici not displaying the remote Avid properly on my home setup. And a shitload of rushes with no obvious entry point. Onwards & upwards!!
Don’t you just hate those shows you have to sign off from with a whimper ‘cause they’re not quite finished but you’ve got to move on & someone else will do the final tweaks? #editing#notes

23 years ago I used the Blue Danube to create a ‘waltz’ of @F1 cars for an awards ceremony. Today I am using it as a temp track on a sequence involving excavators sliding about on ice. 🤞🏻 it makes the final cut…
Question of the day: while Remote/Hybrid editing still seems acceptable to a large proportion of employers, I’ve seen a number of adverts stipulating ‘remote work is not possible’ recently. Why is this?
@DrChowman See that’s what I don’t understand. Do they just not want to use Teradici etc, or is it a physical drive issue? I’m cutting at @envypost without being at Envy & it’s wonderful.
I’m much happier with my work life balance and get more done working at home. No commute. No travel costs. Walk the dogs a lunchtime. What’s not to like?
