@FarmerSimonC Love your constant questioning and trialing. My headlands are usually 20% lower yielding so won’t be having a go at this. Yields have been shit for 2 seasons. I’m in no great rush to make them shitter. !!
@SteveReedMP@NFUtweets I am sure you will have heard farmer's concerns about the harm your Government is doing to the industry with it's taxes and rhetoric. I hope you will discuss them with @RachelReevesMP and the treasury. Farmers grow food for the country's security making little profit, if any.
@AllertonProject@RBoldan Glad you’re joining in, this should increase the flow of information. First step to soil health not Money down the drain. It shouldn’t be kept under the surface, it’s a fluid situation.
I’ll get my coat.
@Merrittable Not putting anything in until rain appears on the forecast. Soils so dry. WOSR may not happen if no rain comes in August. Went from too dry to too wet last year in a 24 hr downpour in September. Challenging.
FAMILY FARM TAX: "The farmers' death tax is shabby, will stoke food price inflation and could seriously undermine this country's ability to feed itself"
"Labour's policies are ill-conceived and rushed, with a strong whiff of class prejudice, aimed at thousands of farming families perceived as wealthy but in reality seriously cash-strapped" @LiamHalligan
Inheritance Tax changes will:
❌ Destroy family farms
❌ Hammer rural communities
❌ Risk national food security

We have an amazing Hospitality industry in the UK. If you want growth @Keir_Starmer then put us on a level playing field and see what we can achieve then!
The Treasury’s family farm tax legislation, which is accompanied by an impact assessment, suggests there will be “no significant macroeconomic impacts” at all.
But a report says the reforms will cause over 200,000 job losses and cost nearly £2bn by 2030.

The economy could lose £14.9bn if the government follows through with #inheritancetax proposals, and more than 200,000 jobs could be lost according to CLA-backed survey from @FamilyBizUK & @CBItweets.
But how will your region be affected?
Find out here: https://t.co/ydtydEBqah
Instead of raising £1.8 billion, the tax raid on farmers and family businesses is expected to cost the Treasury £2 billion!
Don’t they consult with business experts or independent economists before they introduce all these new taxes?
Sorry, stupid question.
@turbotechdog What clueless ideology is this bollocks.. So greatful we have someone so knowledgeable in charge of our sector 🤦♂️. I’d like to see the whole context of the conversation but looks like the usual flannel from an incompetent minister.
🚜 Newly published research has found that flexible tyres & a rotary harrow can reduce soil compaction & surface runoff. Read more below ⬇️
