I always smile when I remember that Bueno Excellente is a canonical DC super hero who operates out of Gotham. He literally just rapes criminals and supervillains.
He fucking raped LOBO, filmed it, and blackmailed him with it.
I've been struggling to put my thoughts and feelings into words the last few days, but I wanted to add on top of what my man is saying here
AI has been advancing at a terrifying pace over the past few weeks, pretending otherwise is delusional, and hoping the whole thing collapses and disappears is wishful thinking at best
As both an artist and a gamedev, some of the things I've seen has made me genuinely anxious about not just my future, but my friends and peers and art and games as a whole. However, despite how easy and accessible image generation has become, I don't feel like my own 2d work has been devalued. I still see a healthy commission ecosystem, and people are still eager to support artists whose work they care about
now we're seeing games getting copied word for word, with their mechanics and aesthetics recreated through vibe coding and dumped into roblox or something within days of release and it feels as if we're approaching a point where practically any game, crossover or ridiculous concept can be generated on demand
and while seeing minecraft running in gtav might be technically impressive, I suspect that the novelty will wear off much the same way generated images and video has. theres only so much empty spectacle you can consoom before it stops being spectacular
it all seems very overwhelming, but there is a whitepill in the blackpill
as artists and game developers, we need to step back and reconsider what exactly it is we're actually trying to accomplish
for years we've been chasing technical perfection and faster workflows so we can dump increasingly impressive results on artstation with greater efficiency, only for that industry to dump us when they find something cheaper and faster in an arms race that we're never going to win
so perhaps we should spend less time becoming the greatest and fastest artist in the world, and more time becoming the best artist we can be at expressing the things we actually want to express
AI can produce scarily realistic and impressive looking images and videos. it can imitate your artstyle, copy your code, reproduce mechanics and reverse engineer practically every technical aspect of your work
these are still important skills to develop, but they are not your focus, instead try to develop the one thing it will never be able to manufacture, and that is sincerity
and people care about that far more than we give them credit for
we are all tired of the "erm that just happened" millenial insecurity or the cynical "deconstruction" for a modern audience
we need to be sinceritymaxxing
focus on your characters, your inspirations, your thoughts and feelings, give people things they can actually connect with
people generate videos of iron man fighting the predator because somebody once created things that people genuinely cared about, and so that spectacle draws its appeal from decades, centuries, millenia of storytelling, imagination and emotional investment
we've had a couple of years of generative AI being able to create anything we describe and I still haven't seen it's users produce a single character worth remembering
maybe tung tung tung sahur is the best its got
people claim they just want mindless fun and empty spectacle, and while there's certainly a population of mindless bug people for that, nothing you produce was ever going to capture those people's attention for any significant length of time anyway
the things that endure and people remember and return to for decades have something that resonates with them personally
I saw terminator 2 in the theaters a few weeks ago and it's still a masterpiece
the key to success is turning disadvantage into advantage
so in an industry where every major publisher is chasing the next fortnite of call of duty forever game, and every hack indie dev is chasing the next among us or lethal company friendslop meme game fad or heckin capitalism cruelty squad knockoff, there is tremendous untapped potential in creating something with genuine identity
something unashamed of its influences, confident in its ideas and completely unafraid to be itself
make characters you want to see, tell the stories you want to tell, explore the ideas that fascinate you, even if you think no one else will understand them. put something of yourself into your work because there's a good chance somebody out there will recognize something of themselves in it too
the world is currently full of people trying to make their pasta sauce the smoothest or the spiciest, so you need to focus on making the chunky pasta sauce that they would write off as a market not worth pursuing
mechanics can be copied, art can be traced, style can be imitated, every technical achievement can be surpassed
but the connection somebody forms with your work has to be earned
we're rapidly approaching an age where practically anything can be made by anyone in no time at all, limited only by what they can describe
but that has made having something actually worth expressing and the skills needed to express it more valuable than ever
Best example of Black leadership
Stayed calm and kept his composure
Gave clear and direct orders to the confused individuals
He wasn't cheering, shouting, or saying stupid shit
Black men like this exist across America hidden in the crowd of Niggas
@Adadjoke1A@MSorrenti434@JoeB87395946@AvalonianVoyage and im not assuming anything about you but im presenting a hypothetical arguement in favor of *not* killing lucifer. because lucifer is gods child, same as we.
@Adadjoke1A@MSorrenti434@JoeB87395946@AvalonianVoyage well if you were a fucking ghoul to want to kill your child for disobeying, but here i am assuming you arent a soulless cretin.
i wouldnt kill my kid for disobeying, because im not heartless. or your idea of a neutral god. speak for yourself too if your gonna be like that.
@Adadjoke1A@MSorrenti434@JoeB87395946@AvalonianVoyage okay.

if you wanted psychology of god i would suggest reading the book his followers made before stating something that you assumed about god.
@Adadjoke1A@MSorrenti434@JoeB87395946@AvalonianVoyage productive how??? you keep changing what the discussion is about for the case of god and his own morality and then your making it about rapists, zues, and islam-
im not pussyfooting it when your arguement is as vague as "god is neutral"
@Adadjoke1A@MSorrenti434@JoeB87395946@AvalonianVoyage your nitpicking. zeus and islam exists because its man made and not the true way.
also, you would not kill your child for disobeying. same thing with lucifer and god.
