@jmacmullin @qzervaas Effort is good. But kids do just love buffets. I would never choose a buffet. Prefer to get out of the hotel and explore for breakfast. But one time we got one by accident and it was the highlight of the holiday for the kids. Pancake machine...
@hughevans I’d love to catch up and hear a bit more about your plans. Pretty decent chance I’ll be involved in a similar project (very different vehicle though) in the not too distant future.
@qzervaas@bentrengrove Enticing though. Tempted me into playing for the first time in a while. I think the difference must’ve been I ruled out a position one with my first word.

@MarkusMannheim Put another way: I can’t remember a more substantive change in how I feel about how I get about as an individual. But I already preferred active and public transport. If it makes a similar difference to people weening themselves off cars, then it’s a big deal.
@MarkusMannheim Potentially. For me, a bike is the best way to get around most of the time. But I’ve recently found that the scooters fill the occasional gaps nicely. Between Hackett and Braddon/City/Dickson, I’ve mostly stopped considering buses.
@jmacmullin I’ve got a chore list at https://t.co/Zyma13PW3n one of which is to make operational a CNC which from memory has a 20W laser attached (alongside a Makita trimmer/router)
@huwr Exactly. It’s nuts that it is legal to sell a two stroke leaf blower, but illegal to sell an electric assist bike that doesn’t cut out at 25km/h. I wish the conversation was less about subsidies and more about sensible regulation.
I hope electric cars are the sideshow. Would be such a shame in 15 years to see a busy road of single passenger commuters, each lugging their own 400Kg battery.
