truthfully, the time lord hadn't a clue of that. well— not precisely at least. they did however know there was a fixed point in time surrounding the child.

the child closed his eyes under the bag . . he felt his breathing eventually come to slow.
every day was a fight for this child's life . . and still unbeknownst to him, it would still be taken too soon.
" nothing else is going tae' come from there, alright? " he tried to reassure, even if it could always be a promise he didn't manage to keep.

this poor child was terrified of it —— yet comforted by the embrace of the other.
" . . . pardon—? " at that point, he turned, and opted to shuffle and push the boy closer to himself.

quietly, mono began to work up the courage to speak.

" there. . . there. " he's struggling a little at the whole ' comfort ' thing, but the grumpy old bastard truly is doing his best—!

the boy breathed heavily, almost hyperventilating from the fright.
he clung onto the other, trembling.
slowly, and with ample room for the other to squirm away—
— he lifted the boy, and blocked the view of the television. " shh,, it's alright now, mm? "
" t-tall—— tall- " was all he managed to get out, shying away from the nearest television.
something had spooked him.
the time lord softened, and simply silenced himself, before curling around the boy.
" there, you're fine now, see? " they're trying here.
very tentatively . . he let go of what he was holding onto, quickly sprinting into his hand and clinging onto it.
" c'mon. . . you can come out— " he quietly continues his efforts, extending a hand out for the other to take hold of.

( it didn't take long for the time lord to have some food ready, this consisting of some sliced fruit, lil' chicken nuggets, and a cookie. )

( more nods. and with some scrambling and jumping, he climbed onto the chair.
he's swinging his little feet back and forth over the edge. )
( his old, stupid little hearts are slowly but surely melting entirely now. )
here, there's a chair over there, why don' you sit down?

( while silent, the child was visibly very happy as they scurried along next to him into the room to look around inside. )

( he chuckled a little bit, before opting to lead the other along to the kitchen. )
( happy tiny child ! ! boy, it was so nice not having to struggle to find something to eat.
