@ray0frmtD@RealRainWaiv considered adults earlier. I do think that it is possible the author could have set it up in a way to push relationships with younger characters, but considering the existence of widespread human trafficking the AoC feels more like a rule of the world rather than author's pref.
@ray0frmtD@RealRainWaiv And fwiw, I don't think the AoC is all that unrealistic for a fictional work in an older era. Given the monsters, lethality of sword and magic, and the lack of modern medicine, the average age of life is much lower, and much like how it was in the real world, people were
@ray0frmtD@RealRainWaiv But beyond that, these are characters, and the events serve as important social development for Rudy that he never had as a child. I think its a bit harsh to write it off without acknowledging that it had purpose in the narrative and its themes.
@ray0frmtD@RealRainWaiv Sylphie grows as her own person outside of the 2 years she met him in Buena. I really don't think that can be described as groomed, but I understand the distaste. Eris does, but primarily out of insistence on her part. Rudy initially doesn't consent, but does after she pushes.
@ray0frmtD@RealRainWaiv realizes that he was messing around too much, and that taking advantage of Eris would be terrible. These are consequences that are brought onto Rudy that cause him to reflect rather than cultural differences that are laughed away as you had first asserted.
@ray0frmtD@RealRainWaiv Neither of the examples you provided though were excused by the author or the characters as cultural differences though. Rudy's actions have caused alarm for other characters and himself, which is why Paul separates him from Sylphie and when confronted by Phillip about Eris he
@ray0frmtD@RealRainWaiv were incredibly different, with Old Rudy not being able to take a step outside of his room and New Rudy growing into a person who is able to face his problems and keep on living, even when things hurt.
@ray0frmtD@RealRainWaiv The only common similarities between both Rudy's lives is the fact he had loving and caring parents and he grew up in a patriarchal society, which is why I dislike Waiv's argument. The upbringing's weren't all that dissimilar, but the actions both Rudy took in response to trauma
@RealRainWaiv This specific stance I don't think is true. What actions did Rudeus take between his real life and his new life that are the same that yielded different results? That, and also in both lives he had loving and caring parents who supported him, so how were his conditions different?
@RiftCubTCG You’d rather just play the 2 cost action that picks up one unit from trash. You can always replay it with fizz and flow if necessary, I don’t think you’ll be so desperate for bodies that you’d want to pay 1e1p for another one AND lose the ability to play it as an action
@YuutoShJ I'm still not convinced, but I'll take your word for it for now. Lets wait to see what else gets revealed, but so far the sig spell has been the biggest highlight, it reads incredibly strong. If the others sigs are comparable in power, I think we are in for a great new set
@YuutoShJ Especially since unlike the spells, fizz/kennen can’t play lr from grave. It also is far more restrictive on the revive. If the goal is to get value out of lr, then either of the grab back spells should work better. But I don’t see how easily u’ll be stacking the bottom for draws
@YuutoShJ Then why are we focused on last rites looping cards back? Your draw power isn’t particularly amazing after a certain point, it’s not like you'll frequently be stacking your deck to draw into what you want, you first have to get through the sd rejects and fizz spins first.
@YuutoShJ Yeah I can see it, I think it’ll be hard regardless. But if ur going this route instead of like 1 of the 3 drop recruit makers and maybe one other card you could also fit in 2 forge of the future. It gives you bodies early and also the ability to not deck out.
@YuutoShJ Also I’m not sold on minefield. It’s useful, but I feel like you stack the grave easily. I feel like forb wastes might serve you better, so that you can pressure big bodies better, or even rockfall to deal with reng. This is current meta ofc, but I feel like it’s worth thought.
@YuutoShJ Why run shadows of the past over the older 2 cost action that adds back a body? I feel like you are desperate for 4 bodies (2 w/cast 2 w/flow), and just getting two cards and paying no power is more likely more efficient. Like sure you can grab double rhasa, but do you need to?
