@recondirective A lot of new players don’t think protect is useful in singles because “nothing changes” but really it’s used to pass every other turn. It’s a free Moody, Speed Boost, Leftovers, leech seed, toxic or sandstorm dmg, and can makeweather/screens/tailwind/pp run out faster
