This was supposed to a short comedy skit written for friends, then I blinked and it turned into a theoretical 22 minute UT/DR cartoon episode. This is literally the only project I worked on all summer. It has Papyrus in it
I once had one of my short scripts critiqued and someone gave advice so ass I had 2 people go "What the fuck are you talking about?" And one person came up to me afterwards and went "don't listen to that guy."
Critique is being talked about a lot this week. I’m very pro critique. Most of my job is receiving critique and I’m a better artist bc of it. BUT it worries me that young artists are feeling like they need to listen to EVERYTHING random people online tell them
Point is; there's a fuck ton of easy games to analyze and I appreciate this list for making people scratch slightly below the surface in looking for interesting games to talk about and gain inspiration from (If I could I would probably choose an RPG maker game)
Off the top of my head - Borderlands franchise and it's unique visual identity in the fps sphere, Octopath Traveller and ushering in the age of HD-2D, Crash Bandicoot N.sane and being able to compare old vs. new approaches to capturing the insanity of a warner brothers cartoon -
Ps1 has like 5 billion games you can use, Parrapa the Rappa, that Rythm game with the fucking sound waves I don't remember it's name, Moon, MGS, FF7, (persona 1) don't even get me started on Wii games.
