Zohran Mamdani, the mayor of New York City, endorses against Adriano Espaillat, the chair of the CHC. Where is the House Democratic leadership expressing their outrage?
Florida is left with two remaining options to protect its citizens:
(1) invade and occupy California militarily; or
(2) stop recognizing California CDLs, and let California move to file a complaint against it at SCOTUS.
Door (2) looks good to me.
@noisycontrarian@2024dion I deeply appreciate its location - it’s still a very solid airport - but the lack of additional room has greatly limited options for expansion and renovation. that parts undeniable
@matt_slotnick 1/2 goes to income tax and all the various other taxes. Depending on where you live and your lifestyle, there isn't a whole lot left over for investing and retirement savings. It's good, but it's not a full $400K free and clear.
as an aside, but why is the new york times so hellbent on putting roads underneath political maps. they do the same thing for election results! is it an aesthetic choice?
Rhodesian troops in the Bush War used a kind of reconaissance by fire known as "Drake shooting".
Instead of waiting for the enemy to reveal themselves, troops would proactively shoot into likely hiding spots: bases of trees, rocks, thickets or anthills.
The goal was to kill concealed insurgents without first needing a clear visual on them.
They didn't waste ammo. Riflemen fired "double taps" or controlled semi-auto shots up to 12 inches off the ground.
This targeted legs and feet or ricocheted debris upward into the enemy's face and body.
If the enemy flinched, moved, or returned fire, it instantly revealed their position for accurate follow-up shots.
This was a very effective counter-insurgent tactic for the terrain they were fighting in.
@Truthful_ast having recently discovered ksptwt I now can’t tell when accounts are posting highly stylized art or actual KSP photography or actual official models lmao makes me laugh
The focus is and needs to be on getting the world class allied players to invest here in America. Our most powerful source of leverage to get them to do that is access to the USG shipbuilding market. Outsourcing and investment are diametrically opposed. We can get investment, but then we cannot agree to outsource; if we agree to outsource, we will not get investment because the investment dollars will flow anywhere and everywhere but America to the lowest cost highest profit options we allow to serve the USG market.
This is the ball game for the mayor’s race. Every idea the candidates put forward should be viewed through the lens of making it easier to do business and grow our economy. Nothing else matters if we can’t create jobs and keep residents in the District.
Dear Virginians who vote for Democrats,
I know you and I don’t typically agree on much, but I wanted to reach out today and ask you to please vote no to gerrymandering Virginia. I realize your first instinct is to vote against me and others like me, and I get that.
I do.
But voting no honestly costs you nothing and only protects our home from being used as a political pawn.
I believe Democrat leaders take you for granted and assume you’d give your own state to them if they said so.
I want to believe that you love your state and your neighbors more than outside politicians who don’t care about you or our state, they just care about winning.
I need to believe you see this for what it has been from the beginning.
❗️They’re not leveling the playing field.
❗️This would destroy our fair maps.
If you’ve gotten this far, thank you for reading and for your consideration.
Please, vote no.
