Pauline Hanson has gone further on multiculturalism, and she is not backing off.

"If you want multiculturalism, be ready for what comes with it. Do you want Sharia? I don't. Do you want multiple marriages? I don't. Do you want the gangs that come here from other countries and roam the streets with machetes? I don't," she told Sky News.

"That is what monoculture is. And if you are the 21% opposed to it, are you really Australian? Or are you just passing through, using this country to your own advantage without wanting to defend it?"

And it is not just talk. Multiculturalism is a standing line in the federal budget, over $435 million a year across grants, media, 84 languages in schools and a taxpayer funded broadcaster.
