The Steelers won't do it, but trading Mike Tomlin for a haul, hiring Brian Flores as the next head coach & signing Malik Willis to be the new QB1 in Pittsburgh next year doesn't sound like such a bad plan right now...
Unfortunately I think it's still way more likely Tomlin is back in 2026 (probably with his option for 2027 picked up as well), Rodgers returns for 1 more season, and pretty much the same core of veterans all return for 2026, the only major difference maybe being a Round 1 pick at WR to pair with Metcalf.
It just feels like they're gonna chalk the end of this season up to missing DK for the final 2 games and 'if we can just pair him with a great young WR2, we're gonna be right there next year'.
@relley40 we been ass for years. team over achieves every season. shouldn’t even be in a position to fight for the playoffs. his tweet doesnt make sense to me, if they fire tomlin im cool w it, but to hire floes and sign willis? its a take i expect out of someone that doesnt watch footbal
the steelers are so bland and predictable it isnt even fun to tweet about them or get mad about the results. been 10 straight years of the exact same story.
sigh
Mike Tomlin will say something like, "We can't eat soup with forks. We need spoons." Then the Steelers will sign a 2018 Pro Bowler to the practice squad.
