And today, I was able to teach Remembrance Day & the end of WW1 with a real artifact: my 1917 eighteen pounder shell. History is best taught and learned with a tangible connection, and today was a fun lesson! #RemembranceDay

Capt. Smith served at The Somme, where he was responsible for sending the boys over the top. For his “bravery,” he received the Military Cross.

The day my grandpa died the Jays were on the road, ironically playing his Red Sox. I simply had to watch baseball that day to celebrate him, so I drove to Pittsburgh by myself.

Didn’t realize how much I’d miss him with Toronto in the World Series. Let’s go Blue Jays. #WANTITALL

Five years ago, the day my grandpa died, I drove to Pittsburgh to watch a Pirates game. Baseball was our thing together, the Jays were on the road, and Pittsburgh was the nearest game. I needed to do it.

Fitting the Jays are there today. Miss you, Pops. Let’s go @BlueJays.
