A Morrisons store manager says his life has been completely 'devastated' after he was sacked for confronting a repeated shoplifter.
Sean Egan - who had worked in the Aldridge Morrisons in the West Midlands for 29 years - was escorting the shoplifter out of the store when the thief turned aggressive.
I have been in touch with people at Newcastle this evening after seeing this and they are looking to make things right with the mascot. Felt so sorry for the little girl.
@elonmusk - looking forward to the latest Space X launch in just over an hour with my young son.
Recommendations to view? Currently in Space Park but seems dead!
@Pow_@SkySportsNews@SkyFootball As a supposedly top sports media outlet and the only one with a rolling TV channel it should be the first port of call for sport breaking news.
Instead, it is the last with exasperated viewers going elsewhere - including sister channel Sky News who hasn’t done a bad job of it.
Shocking news breaking on Diogo Jota dying in a car crash.
Meanwhile, @SkySportsNews still haven’t even acknowledged it and running a cricket preview…😏
@BenRogerson_@SkySportsNews@SkyFootball It’s embarrassing - it’s breaking news, any decent media outlet will concentrate on getting it out, not doing hair and make-up.
There’s no excuse for it not to be online either - unless the digital staff have to get dressed as well.

🙏 Heysel: The Shame We Can’t Outrun
Forty years on, the blood on the terraces of the Heysel Stadium has dried but the shame remains stubbornly fresh. We speak of denial, but denial implies ignorance. This was a wilful forgetting. A decision to bury guilt in the rubble of a collapsed wall and pretend the ghosts of Brussels don’t still chant at us from the corners of history.
Thirty-nine lives were lost that night. Not just numbers. Not just Italians. People who went to watch a football match and never came home. And in the years that followed, how many Scousers lied to themselves and each other? “It was the stadium. It was the wall. It was just a tragic accident.” But we knew. We knew.
It wasn’t all of us, but it was enough of us. And too many chose to look away.
Evertonians mocking the dead with chants of “Thirty-nine Italians can’t be wrong” deserve nothing but contempt, but no one wearing red that night should feel absolved. There’s no pride in being the least guilty man in a riot. No honour in pretending that the wave of aggression and tribal swagger that rolled through Brussels didn’t come from us. We were a crowd drunk on defiance, warped by anger at being mocked and marginalised, and convinced we were untouchable. That no one could stop us. And no one did.
Heysel wasn’t a spontaneous combustion. It was a slow burn. Rome a year before had lit the fuse. The fury at how we were treated there turned into a loaded paranoia. The wall fell, yes. But it fell under the weight of years of resentment, a violent edge sharpened by drink, failure of policing and the arrogance of a generation that thought being righted by history meant you could never be wrong again.
The greatest tragedy isn’t just that 39 people died. It’s that, for too long, we didn’t truly mourn them. We explained it away. We deflected. We turned our backs. And in doing so, we let others use those deaths as a weapon against us. Hillsborough was real. But Heysel was too.
You don’t honour your own dead by forgetting someone else’s. The dead don’t come in colours. They’re all gone. That’s all that matters.
Face the truth. Own it. And for God’s sake, never let it happen again.

Grown to learn that Aston Villa are a football club that’s impossible not to admire. Brilliant history, outstanding fans, unique identity, and they have managed to keep hold of their soul in the sell-out age.
Just a class football club. #AVFC
@chazaustin10 This is so frustrating! I hope this isn't deterring you from replying to genuine people?! I've PM'd you on here/Insta and requested LinkedIn as it'll be good to have a chat about your work.
The establishment's worst nightmare isn't Donald Trump.
It's his teenage son.
With ONE decision he sent the mainstream media scrambling.
Here's how an 18-year-old just outsmarted every political expert:
I’ve been in the UK for a while now and honestly, I am still adjusting and learning.
In many ways, the things I was lauded for in the USA: my directness, my friendliness, my commitment, and even just being a passionate person are things I am disliked for & punished for here.
Grew up with @oasis, @NoelGallagher & @liamgallagher but can’t help but feel they’re full of sh1t now.
There’s 100s of specific seats I have access to being sold for ££s over FV on unofficial sites yet @TicketmasterUK won’t have a conversation with me in getting them cancelled.
UK 🇬🇧
Two extra Wembley Stadium shows have been added due to phenomenal demand.
Tickets will be sold by a staggered, invitation-only ballot process. Applications to join the ballot will be opened first to the many UK fans who were unsuccessful in the initial on sale with Ticketmaster. More details to follow.
I just can’t get past Labour winning 65% of seats off 34% of the vote.
Absolutely wild mismatch between the headline result and, well, everything else.
Britain is now a multi-party system, and first-past-the-post can’t cope.
Watching Gareth Southgate's @England is a microcosm of the country under a Tory Government...
Championing the mediocre, clueless, full of self-interest as opposed to working together and just generally inept #ENGSVK
