My soul can no longer sit idly by on the bleachers and just observe what is happening around me. I’m bursting at the seams to participate again in the game of life. I must boldly document what I see, feel it all—the good, the bad, and the in between—and I must create art from it. And when I am making art or writing, for example, I must remember that when I am finished, it is a privilege to get to take joy in sharing some of these most vulnerable parts of myself with other people in the world.
Because ultimately that is what all of this is about. Sharing ourselves, connecting with others, and growing into the future together. What’s something you’re working on improving or changing right now? Or are you pretty content with everything and where you’re at in your own journey currently?
While the aspens have already passed their peak for the season and most, if not all have now lost all their leaves, lower-elevation places in Arizona are starting to have their fall colors peak now, so there is still time for an autumn adventure! 🍂 hope you enjoy these fall colors! ✨ #fallcolors #arizona
“I’m not usually a fan of pointing the camera straight up at an aspen tree … but this is honestly looking pretty cool, so I’m doing it” 🤣🍂✨ #fallcolors#arizona#Autumn2025
This summer, I started out with a reasonable and attainable goal of finding sunflowers to photograph in Arizona. 🌻 Not only did I quickly achieve my initial goal, but in doing so I was inspired to make a new challenge for myself to photograph and take videos of wildlife. This pushed me out of my comfort zone, so not only was it more difficult, but I learned and gained a bunch from it. It definitely helped me remember that when we don't limit ourselves and dream big, we can be pleasantly surprised with the results. I firmly believe every one of us is an artist or creator in some way or another. What is something you have been working on creating recently or have dreams, plans, etc. to make in the future? Keep dreaming big!

Did you know raccoons can swim?! I definitely didn’t—or maybe I just never really thought about it before. But that changed one night during late summertime this year when I found this cute little raccoon family eating their dinner at the lake around sunset. I love these cute, swimming raccoons so much! I think about them frequently and hope they’re still doing their thing and thriving out there 🦝🌦️ #arizona #wildlife

This summer, I focused on pushing myself out of my comfort zone to try to get better at wildlife photography. In doing so, not only did I feel like I was being positively challenged, but I was also able to detach myself from any expectations or specific desired outcomes, and instead leaned into curiosity to see what I might be able to accomplish with it. ☀️📷🦆
I used to think having to be quiet and patient and waiting around for animals to photograph would be boring. But I can assure you, it definitely is not boring—and can be very fun when you finally do find some wildlife through your lens!
This summer was also my first time really taking videos of wildlife. It was truly such an awesome learning experience and opened up a whole new world of photography and videography for me to continue exploring and working on!
Remember it’s okay, and usually even encouraged, to leave your comfort zone to spark a catalyst for personal growth—you might not only surprise yourself with what you can accomplish when you do, but you’ll probably learn some awesome new things during the process, too! ✨
