Well the collective RW populist-loving pissantry are losing their synchronised hive minds today over the commentary of Shane Jacobson regarding Hanson and Robert Irwin’s jab at Karl Stefanovic on the Logie awards.

Pearl-Clutchers-R-Us are outraged that free speech and opinion is, in fact, not the free speech and opinion that they would prefer- ironically as they continue to champion their right to free speech, to insult and ridicule anybody they don’t like or agree with via their RW echo chambers and online batsh*t-crazy caves.

The head-popping apoplectic sh*t storm is in full swing today as angertainment disciples are in full trigger mode - and nobody’s gonna stop their spittle stained download as they spread their hate-filled bile to all and sundry.

The ironic thing is that while Shane Jacobson and Robert Irwin are demonstrating free speech and opinion in an entertaining way - the backlash has removed itself from free speech and descended into something far more sinister…

Hate speech is becoming so normalised in this country and around the world that the triggered, the angry and the enabled don’t see it as hate speech anymore. Threats, abuse, bullying and violence are being sanitised by a virtual avalanche of spiteful and dangerous vitriol that society is becoming desensitised to.

I have witnessed online the violent rhetoric that is being directed at these two men today merely for having an opinion. It has now morphed into a free-for-all threat-fest.

The lunatic fringe that most push their right to free speech are beyond recognising the difference between the right to have an opinion - and threatening the rights of others with hostile and dangerous speech that enables so much worse.

It’s about time that people understood that free speech does NOT include hate speech - and our laws and actions against hate speech and violence should be enforced to reflect that.

Normalising this shyte emboldens violence and worse. Just ask yourself why one woman per week has been killed in this country this year and it is not considered endemic in our society. It is only August and we have already lost 45 women to violence.

It’s not okay to threaten others. Don’t normalise it. When we normalise and desensitise, bad things happen.

The vision?

Cut education, health, childcare, climate programs, the ABC, SBS, Aboriginal programs and government departments. Scrap the NDIS and NIAA. Pull back from international cooperation. More coal. Nuclear.

Yet somehow also spend more on hospitals, schools, homelessness and cost of living relief.

When asked how she would help working Australians, she pivoted to business owners, complained about wage rises, workplace protections and workers being “lazy” and on their phones. Apparently owning a fish and chip shop 40 years ago qualifies you to lecture Australians about running a business in 2026.

Asked about interest rates? Admitted she has no control over the RBA but claimed spending cuts would magically bring rates down.

Asked about migration? Straight into fear campaigns about Muslims and Europe.

Asked about her daughter’s taxpayer-funded job? Refused to answer, attacked journalists and cried “trashy journalism”.

Asked about SBS helping migrants integrate? Her answer was basically: watch Sky News and learn English.

Asked about childcare? Complained about qualifications and pay rises for childcare workers.

Asked about abortion? Repeated the myth that women are having abortions the day before giving birth. They aren’t. Late-term abortions are extremely rare and usually involve serious medical complications or fatal fetal abnormalities.

And when asked why Aboriginal programs should be cut, she argued everyone should be treated equally.

But equality isn’t pretending everyone starts from the same place. Aboriginal Australians still experience poorer health, education and social outcomes. You don’t close those gaps by removing the services designed to address them.

That’s like removing a wheelchair ramp and calling it equality because everyone now has the same stairs.

If you’re asking Australians to hand you government, you should be able to answer questions about your policies without changing the subject every time it gets uncomfortable.
