Words cannot explain what the world lost today. My heart breaks to say that Melissa passed away today. She was at home resting peacefully listening to Nina Simone.
I am as ok as I can be and an to get some much needed rest.

@SuddenWidow I approaching the 14th month mark now and still don't know where to even begin am update. There's no definitive right time to start, it's different for everyone. It will happen when it happens. Until then take care of yourself.

@BZavaletaMD I also think that although I appreciate the awareness movies & TV shows bring to cancer to a degree, they are making money off of peoples pain & loss. If they really want to help, a percentage of the profits made should go to cancer research to honor everyone effected by it.

@BZavaletaMD I think many do good at portraying the diagnosis & treatment side, but fall painfully short in showing the true desrructive impact it has on a patient & caregivers life. I suppose it's hard to do in such a short time frame. I tend to avoid them due to that fact.

@ShaylaJasek I can understand. I shield the world from how I feel by being a hermit. In the last 6 months I have left the house an average of twice a week and usually just for a 15 minute trip to the store and then back.
