Ano nga ba ang unexplained wealth, at paano ito napapatunayan?
Kailangang ikumpara ang lehitimong kita ng isang opisyal sa aktwal na paggalaw ng kanyang pera at mga ari-arian. Kaya mahalaga ang bank records, tax records, Anti-Money Laundering Council reports, at Statements of Assets, Liabilities and Net Worth.
There is no room for racism in free speech.
I am expressing deep concern over the July 10 video by a China-based media outlet depicting Filipinos as monkeys in connection with the 2016 Arbitral Award.
Freedom of expression, even in political disputes, is not a license to dehumanize people. Racism has no place in any society that values truth and civility.
I am calling for a return to intelligent, respectful dialogue among all parties, urging media and institutions to exercise greater circumspection and refrain from producing or circulating such materials in the future.
Disagreements between nations should sharpen our reasoning, not our prejudices. We call on all sides to be more circumspect and to choose dialogue over derision.
In a free society, mass media and communications platforms carry a social responsibility to uphold truth and civility in public discourse.
MISS ANGEL LOCSIN ROASTING ROBIN PADILLA AT 3 IN THE MORNING???? QUEEN!!!!
It’s a MIRACLE! Naka wheel chair pumasok, brisk walk lumabas.
Kudos to UP-PGH for putting professionalism and integrity above all other considerations in submitting their medical report to the Sandiganbayan.
Mga Kababayan, ang daming distractions and drama queens today and this week (and maybe that’s part of the VP’s “defense”) but if you watch ONE thing from this hearing today, please watch this from Rep. Chel Diokno:
Ten years on, the Award stands. Repetition of “null and void” does not make it so. People’s Daily says a falsehood repeated does not become true. We agree — which is why we must correct the falsehoods in its own post.
1. “Illegal, null and void from the outset.” The Arbitral Tribunal was constituted under Annex VII of UNCLOS — a treaty China signed and ratified. Article 288(4) is unambiguous: the Tribunal itself decides disputes over its jurisdiction. Article 296 and Annex VII, Article 11 make its decisions final and binding on the parties. China does not get to ratify a convention, enjoy its benefits for decades, then unilaterally exempt itself from its dispute settlement mechanism. That is not law; that is convenience.
2. “The award infringes upon China’s legitimate rights.” The Tribunal found that the nine-dash line has no basis in international law. Rights that never existed cannot be infringed. What the Award protects are the actual, treaty-based entitlements of coastal states — including the Philippines’ EEZ and continental shelf.
3. “Relying on external forces to stir up trouble.” The Philippines went to court, not to war. Arbitration is the peaceful settlement of disputes that the UN Charter and UNCLOS demand. If invoking law is “stirring up trouble,” what do we call ramming, water cannons, military-grade lasers, and swarming a neighbor’s EEZ with hundreds of militia vessels? We call it what it is: illegal, coercive, aggressive, and deceptive.
4. “Harm to the international rule of law.” The rule of law is harmed by exactly one thing here: a party refusing to comply with a final and binding ruling for ten years. More than 40 states and the EU have called for the Award’s respect. The verdict of the international community is not on our compliance — it is on China’s defiance.
The passage of time cannot render an illegal claim legal. Ten years have not legitimized the nine-dash line, and ten more will not. The Award is not “so-called.” It is final, it is binding, and it is the law!
Let's keep reminding everyone.
This is the video of VP Sara Duterte herself making statements widely interpreted as a grave threat involving an alleged assassination plot against Pres Bongbong Marcos, the First Lady, and the former Speaker of the HOR.
It has now been over 3 days since Playstation made the post. Their strategy is clear!
They hope the anger just goes away and things get back to normal, this is their plan obviously.
This is important that we don't just walk away from this and, MAKE YOUR VOICES HEARD!!!!
Inabala ng INC ang mga ordinaryong Pilipino na gumagamit ng EDSA to save Marcoleta who admitted to receiving tens of millions in cash as a congressman. Yan talaga pinaglalaban nyo?
