Medievalists friends! Delighted to speak about loyalty and treasons at the #ssfh2022 in April, at Oxford with colleagues @ACollins16_C and Andrew D. Green for a panel called 'Shaping Power Dynamics: Encounters and Conflicts with the Crown (15th-16th Centuries)'. Yay!
@mllichti@absurdlymax sure, not my point though: my point is that AI safety regulations are a thing of the right, right now. So saying that EAs' interests are carried out by the left and leftists is not a factually good analysis.
Why betting our limited resources on X-risks might not be actually the most impactful thing to do : a topic that should be way more tackled? Great post : https://t.co/zPTg5QaAvT
Gender and Data : reaching a 50/50 ratio women/men is not enough: data shows that when men constitute only 33% of attendees they still ask 55% of the questions! https://t.co/Fjz716oPDT
It's easy to be proud when the day comes, but here to all people who feel like shite today: I might glow, but many were the days where I just wanted to shut down everything! To our fears, failures, rejections, and the courage to make it once again, everyday!
Yesterday I became a Dr! I can't save you in a plane crash but I can talk about feudalism, so there's that! Huge thanks to best supervisors @mediaevalrevolt and @jeanneologist, with me until the end! 1/2
@HelenYaffe@yalepress@YaleBooks Finally I'll read it! What do you think about 'Against All Hope: A Memoir of Life in Castro's Gulag'? Would you recommend it, or do you have better references about Castro's crimes?
@MortenStostad An explanation given by the 'Tyranny of merit' is that although ppl see a significant decrease in their wellbeing, they still want to believe in the 'American Dream'. Wishful thinking, in sum, and deny of harsh realities.
