Ronaldo said in an interview with Brazilian media:

“I am the first, second and third best player in the world. But there are other good candidates, like Kaka, Messi and Torres.”

2. November 2010

Barcelona beat Almería 8–0, with Messi scoring a hat-trick. Ronald’s response was:

“The 8-0 win doesn’t tell me anything. Let’s see if they score eight against us on Monday.”

Barcelona then beat Real Madrid 5–0 in El Clásico.

Messi did not respond to Ronaldo either before or after the match.

3. February 2011
