Evidence collected over many years, obtained from many locations, indicates that the power of Prayer is insufficient to stop bullets from killing school children.
@TheDeVineyCode @supervidoqo@MycologySteve @weedywet @neiltyson Labeling is a tool. It is not the debate, it is a way of passing on information as part of the debate. Not educating and debating just leads to a situation where consumers are not able to make decisions without tremendous effort, and where uninformed fear spreading has it easy.
@TheDeVineyCode @supervidoqo@MycologySteve @weedywet @neiltyson I don't want companies to educate consumers. That should fall to the state and public services, which ideally are not formed by a who's who of said companies leadership. Conflict of interest, ya' know?
@TheDeVineyCode @supervidoqo@MycologySteve @weedywet @neiltyson ... I'm not doubting scientific results proving the final product ending up on the consumers table are ok to eat. I doubt humanities ability to predict and evaluate all variables involved when considering long-term effects on complex ecosystems. That's why I demand accountability
@TheDeVineyCode @supervidoqo@MycologySteve @weedywet @neiltyson ... There are clear info available by many organic labels which pesticides are permitted and what GMO. Why not subjunct the rest of the industry to the same standards? If GMOs are perpetrated as the solution, then I want to debate: What for?
@TheDeVineyCode @supervidoqo@MycologySteve @weedywet @neiltyson Well, what is the problem you want to resolve with GMOs? If you want to sell me GMOs without educating me on their Why's and How's I can't participate in the debate over their effectiveness. If irradiated crops are proven safe you shouldn't fear debating their benefits openly ...
@weedywet @supervidoqo @TheDeVineyCode @MycologySteve@neiltyson I don't feel like that is a valid condition for right to know as it pre-emptively avoids education and public discourse.
