@LoirL@VRWorldSociety Thanks so much for your appreciation. I handled this panel with a whip and an ice cream cone. Everyone worked really hard! So sorry that Tanya Leal Soto wasn’t able to join, but she was handling a real production problem, now solved!
@NicoleLazzaro@CharityARtiste @virtualindaj @comogard@VRWorldSociety Hey if you’re gonna read it read the 2nd edition. Corrected for some historical interventions like the Internet and - Easter egg - called out JJ Abrams!
I want to nominate SyncThink (https//syncthink.com) and Embodied Labs (https//embodiedlabs.com) for the IxDA awards! Both are doing awesome work! Nominations close Monday so get yours in! #nominationchallenge#IxDAwards
@asbruckman@liminalphase Still, I was personally attacked for “appropriation”, primarily by Quebecois women who were not native people. The story snowballed so that a year later an anonymous post at a conference said that I should never be admitted to Canada again because of my culture “crimes.”
@asbruckman@liminalphase Sorry but I need to speak about this. We did not use aboriginal / First Nations / native art or symbols in Placeholder. Each image was designed by our artists. What we “borrowed” was the idea of petroglyphs. My inspiration came from petroglyph sites all over the world.
