To our dearest Sunghoon,

Who would’ve thought that a single photo from the I-LAND applicant release could lead to five years of loving you this long? But then again, it makes sense. You’re someone who is so easy to love. You don’t force anything. You don’t try to be someone you’re not. You just show up as you, and that’s more than enough.

It’s been five years since fate placed you in our lives, and still, the idea of it makes our hearts ache in the most beautiful way. Back then, we didn’t know we had just met someone who would become one of the seven reasons we get out of bed in the morning. When it comes to you, it’s different in the quietest, most tender way. You bring a calm that grounds us, a presence that feels like home.

Sometimes, we think about the little boy on the ice, how your world used to be cold but made you strong, equipping you with discipline and an unshakable mindset. You were alone on that rink, skating circles around doubt, carrying so much inside that no one else could see. Your family watched from the sidelines, hoping you’d find more. And you did. Years later, you found a stage. You found brothers. You found all of us.

From “Crayon in my mind” to I-LAND, we caught glimpses of that journey, of your still eyes and the weight they carried. You were just a boy, but even then, we saw a quiet fire in you, and it changed everything for us.

Sunoo, Jungwon, Ni-ki, the dongsaengs who grew beside you, shared dreams, and even a room with you back then and who still pull you into their silly TikToks and shopping trips, reminding you that you’re never alone.

Do you realize just how much your parents can finally breathe easy? How they might have never seen this family coming, but now they watch you, living your best life with your brothers who hold you like home. Do you know how much that means to us? That you’re no longer alone.

Do you see now how far you’ve come, Sunghoon? In just five years, you’ve achieved so much. You became the 37th MC of Music Bank and ended your term with a legacy no one can overlook. You continue to represent top brands, not just because of your visual, but because people see the light in you, and the undeniable power you carry. And just recently, you were appointed as the Honorary Ambassador of the Korean Sport and Olympic Committee. The boy who once left the ice now stands for all those who still dream on it. That’s not small. That’s powerful.

You left the rink, yes. But your footsteps still echo in it.
