@natisneato I regularly take issue with the stuff Melos says but that's mainly because they have a habit of making socratic suggestions rather than concrete points or just not making any points at all (like the Luigi's Mansion review). this isn't that though, the points here are very clear.
@natisneato I don't really get what the issue is. If you don't register the rating as appropriate that's what the actual words are for. you can agree or disagree with what they're saying but you're coming at this like there's an obligation of deference towards what's generally appreciated.
@doggygoth that can be potentially more obsessive/dedicated than a person who finishes the whole series. it's like those people who have 1000 hour skyrim files and have never finished the game
@PurpleColonelSP if you've reached a state of elitism where two different people who play games as a *career* need to not only be not only exempt from demographic consideration but outright EXCLUDED from it to chase some sort of higher calling you don't even have a point to make anymore
@WeeabooNinja small children hopefully also understand that comprehending the structural premise of an artifice has zero relation to how much fun they'll have with it or how much consideration was given to it
@RDiggem66017@Corvinelle no one performs the act of "joining a fandom" by playing a thing and talking about it on the internet but you describing it like this has explained so much of this drama for me
@EWGF67gaming on "johning isn't real"you should check out this BKC video where he talks about his belief that it's impossible for a truly passionate player to never complain about their game without it exploding at some point. permanently changed the way I think https://t.co/NERFRCVZEU
@regularaugust some of this is just folks with serial killer pathology using plausible deniability to act violent, but there has always been a silent but sizable faction of people with genuine fear and/or hatred for pets. a lot of it stems from class-based resentment
@rubynesoberi you've poked the hornet's nest of people with a completely unexamined fixation for infinite content I'm afraid. now you know why they put socrates on trial
@rubynesoberi not to take the bullying on the bullying app too seriously but it feels like in 2000s forum culture the threshold for "unreasonably hard" was unanimously set at "a thing AVGN would find too hard." that wasn't the best guideline but at least it stopped difficulty debates mostly
@patrician_tv when I was in high school during the early 2010s people literally swarmed the local tim hortons after school because it was the only place you could loiter without getting harassed by cops
