At the Trakul Saen Elephant Sanctuary, in Mae Taeng District of Chiang Mai Province, a “Trunks for the Nation” event has been held, featuring two young Thai elephants, ‘Du Doi’ and ‘Saen Tan’. The pachyderms raised Thai flags with their trunks, in support of the soldiers stationed along the Thai-Cambodian border during the current tensions.
The elephant, Thailand’s national animal, embodies the spirit of the nation. This act symbolises national pride and unity through the elephant, a creature long revered by the Thai people.
