🚨THE RELUCTANT PROPHET ENTERS THE ARENA HE TRIED TO PREVENT
Elon spent years warning humanity about AI's existential threat, co-founding OpenAI to ensure artificial general intelligence would benefit everyone, then watched in horror as it transformed into Microsoft's ten billion dollar profit machine.
The man who compared AI development to "summoning the demon" declared "game on" because he realized something worse than racing toward AGI:
letting the wrong people get there first.
The irony cuts deep.
Elon created OpenAI as a non-profit specifically to prevent what it became: a closed, corporate entity pursuing AGI for shareholder value.
He donated a hundred million, established the safety-first mission, then got pushed out when Sam Altman pivoted toward commercialization.
Now OpenAI won't even share their research while claiming they're building humanity's most important technology.
Imagine watching your child, raised to save the world, become exactly what you feared most.
Here's what changed his calculus: AGI isn't a possibility anymore, it's an engineering timeline.
GPT-4 to Claude to Gemini, each iteration doubles capability while safety research lags years behind.
The companies racing fastest care least about alignment.
Google fired their ethics team.
Microsoft buried safety concerns for market share.
Meta open-sourced powerful models without safeguards.
Elon saw the pattern: the most reckless players were winning, and winning meant controlling humanity's future.
xAI's founding represents resignation transformed into determination.
If someone must build AGI, better the person who spent decades warning about its dangers than executives who see it as quarterly earnings.
Grok already surpasses competitors in reasoning benchmarks while maintaining transparency about its limitations.
That's not coincidence; it's philosophy.
Build the most capable system possible while keeping humans in control, because the alternative isn't no AGI, it's AGI controlled by those who never questioned whether they should.
The greatest irony?
Humanity's best hope might be the man who tried hardest to prevent this race in the first place.

A giant of the faith has gone home to be with the Lord. Evangelist Jimmy Swaggart dedicated his life to preaching the Gospel and leading countless souls to Jesus. His passion for revival and love for God’s Word touched generations.
We honor his legacy today and pray for comfort and peace for the entire Swaggart family. Heaven is rejoicing.
We are lifting up the entire Swaggart family in prayer during this very difficult time. Evangelist Jimmy Swaggart made an eternal impact in our world and will be greatly missed.

Even as we grieve Jimmy Swaggart’s passing from this earth, we rejoice at his home-going. From my earliest memory as a new believer in Canada, I became increasingly intrigued at how mightily he was used by God in so many ways. Like so many others, I grew to love his story of how he rose from humble beginnings in Ferriday, Louisiana (born March 15, 1935), growing up with soon-to-be famous cousins rockabilly pioneer Jerry Lee Lewis and country music star Mickey Gilley. Eventually he and his young wife, Frances, began traveling throughout the South, preaching from a donated flatbed trailer, eventually becoming one of the most well-known evangelists and gospel musicians throughout America and the world. His crusades drew huge crowds and received significant media attention. Along the way he pastored the Family Worship Center in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, founded SonLife Broadcasting Network and the Jimmy Swaggart Bible College. He wrote over 50 books, including his autobiography, To Cross a River. An outstanding pianist and singer, he also sold over 15 million records worldwide. He preached the gospel of Jesus Christ on television longer than any other American evangelist in history! I was privileged to spend time and minister with him (including when Jimmy preached at Orlando Christian Center and I ministered at Family Worship Center in the 1980s), offering me the special privilege of witnessing first-hand his intense love of Jesus and his unmistakable passion for lost souls. Those who knew him understood that he was willing to do whatever was needed to reach out to others with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Now I ask all my partners to be in prayer for his precious wife Frances, his son Donnie, and all of his family, staff, and ministry partners during these days of bereavement. And while we join my friend’s loved ones in mourning this great loss, we also celebrate our dear brother’s reunion in heaven with the Lord Jesus whom he served so faithfully during his memorable lifetime. I can only imagine the glory he is experiencing today in heaven with the Savior whom he loved and served faithfully throughout his life!
Prayers up for the Swaggart family today as they mourn the passing of their patriarch, Pastor Jimmy Swaggart.
Few voices have echoed across the world like his has.
Thankful for the hope we have in Jesus.
Today, we celebrate the life and legacy of Evangelist Jimmy Swaggart, who has passed on to his heavenly home. Brother Swaggart has impacted countless lives with the Gospel of Jesus Christ throughout the world. Join us as we pray for his family, ministry, and all who have been forever changed by his legacy of faith.
