I am a Christian. I pray and belong to the Armenian Apostolic Church. At the same time, I respect other religions and their cultural uniqueness.

When I visited Iran in 2018, I wore a headscarf and visited mosques out of interest in the local culture and deep respect for Muslim traditions.

How is it that a Muslim country like Azerbaijan bans Muslim girls from wearing headscarves, dismissing them as part of “Arab and Persian” culture?

Are you really Muslims? I direct this question to the Azerbaijani authorities, who sometimes rewrite history so zealously that they seem ready to prove that Azerbaijanis embraced Christianity even before Jesus Christ was born.

BREAKING: Saudi Supreme Court has set aside the death sentence against Sri Lankan Anojan Sivarasa.

A young Sri Lankan facing execution over a deleted Facebook comment has just been given a second chance at life.

Deputy Foreign Minister Arun Hemachandra announced that the Supreme Court overturned the death penalty ruling on 13 October after sustained diplomatic and legal efforts by the Sri Lankan government.

This is a massive relief for Anojan, his family, and everyone who followed the case. The Sri Lankan side thanked the Saudi government for its cooperation, along with the ambassador, Foreign Ministry officials, the Bureau of Foreign Employment, and both the Sri Lankan and Saudi legal teams.

Further details on his exact legal status and next steps are still pending, but for now the death sentence is off the table.
