In 2016, they called us bigots for supporting Trump
In 2018, they called us misogynists for defending Kavanaugh
In 2020, they called us grandma killers for questioning masks and racists for critiquing BLM
In 2022, they called us cruel for celebrating the overturning of Roe
In 2024, they called us fascists for voting for Trump
In 2026, they’re calling us Nazis for supporting perfectly legitimate immigration enforcement
In every single case, we have been correct.
Hilary would’ve been a disaster as president, Kavanaugh helped us overturn Roe, masks were useless, BLM is fraudulent, pro-life laws have saved thousands of babies’ lives, and I thank God every day Kamala Harris isn’t in office. And, today, deportation of illegal immigrants is completely righteous and good and should be able to be done without tragically violent conflict.
Stand firm
Every flourishing and enduring society has understood that marriage stands as the most basic institution of civilization. Redefining marriage undermines the very institution that God ordained for the raising and nurturing of children. Children need both a father and a mother. That is why I am glad to stand with the #GreaterThan campaign because what is ultimately at stake is nothing less than the care, protection, and future of our children.

Does anyone remember this fair ride or what it's called? There were no straps... it would spin so fast that it would pin you against the wall. People would vomit. It was fun. 🤣
Adopting was the most difficult thing we’ve ever done as a married couple. It is absolutely not for everyone. Anyone who preaches and implies that everyone should do it is in error.
We don’t regret our decision. We do wish we had been more prepared and knowing more about the affects of substance abuse, trauma, and attachment disorders. We also recognize that adoption requires sacrifice not only on the part of the parents but on the biological children as well—again, something we wished we had known and braved ourselves for.
It is true that there has been some teaching on adoption that glosses over these nuances and does not adequately prepare prospective adoptive parents for the road ahead. This is not good. We were at one time exposed to some of the simplistic presentations Eric is critiquing. Now, I firmly believe adoptive parents need to be mobilized with eyes wide open, not with blindfolds.
Yet there is a biblical imperative to care for orphans and widows as a part of true religion (James 1:27). We cannot swing from one extreme end of the pendulum (naïveté) to the other (neglect) and cast this command aside. Orphans are near to the heart of God.
The gospel does not obligate all Christians to adopt. But the logic of the gospel underpins adoption in a crucial way—similar to the way in which the logic of the gospel leads to the abolition of slavery. God is an adopting God, loving not only the natural branches but also grafting in outsiders into his covenant vine, and the related human practice of adoption is fundamentally good. Consider the Arab world and the utter neglect of orphans due to the lack of a theology of adoption (and the actual subversion of it in Islamic theology). Worldview does shape familial practice in inestimable ways.
To my fellow adoptive parents: Press on. All of Scripture is the story of God loving a wayward adopted people. He knows the highs and the hurt—look not further than Calvary to see the evidence. The Lord will reward your labors of love if undertaken joyfully in his name.
To those considering adoption: Research RAD, FAS, etc., and count the cost. Unconditional love, motivated by the gospel, while necessary, is not the sole, efficient cause of an intact, stable household. Count the cost. Think soberly about the capacity and resilience of your household, and do what is in your heart, but do not be naïve, and do not act simply out of guilt. Similar to the advice given to young men considering the pastorate, consider doing anything else to care for orphans (fostering, respite care, prayer and mobilization of a support group in your church, etc.) before considering adoption. Adoption, like missionary service, requires an elite minority of goers and a majority of stayers/senders/rope-holders on the supply lines. For this reason I do not judge those who have decided adoption is not for them.
Most of all, act in good conscience before the Lord. Let both the logic of the gospel and also natural affections inform the way you build your house. Don’t sacrifice nature to grace nor grace to nature.
This weekend, pro-abortion activists firebombed a pregnancy center in Gresham, OR, which provided material help for mothers & children.
Imagine if this had been an abortion clinic. It would be headlines news. But because it’s a pro-life center, media & the Biden admin ignore.
