what puzzles me with that last key change is that usually people would raise the key/ modulate to sing the last chorus in a higher register? but kd modulated and then the chorus became D-G instead of D-A aka DOWNWARDS. WHY. what is its purpose i am intrigued

my GAHD the way they modulated from d minor to g minor in the last chorus and they did it by changing just one note
