A shout out (again) to the fab disability liaison officers at @AustinHealthDLO They have made whatseemed the impossible possible for which I am deeply grateful. As opposed to the trauma we are experiencing w so many other systems right now @drgeorgethecrip@VicGovDH@VicGovDFFH
We're commencing work with our colleagues at The Mercy Hospital for Women to support mothers with disability. Stay tuned! In the meantime, please read Nas Campanella's story on her journey to motherhood at the following link: https://t.co/mIRCxD3i2g
The Disability Liaison Officer program is an essential service for both health care providers and people with disability. An expert and specialised program like this is needed to ensure good health outcomes are the norm not the exception. @Austin_Health@VicGovDH@DisabilityHlth
It took a village to get my 18 yo son vaxxed. Shout out to his paediatrician, support workers, disability liaison officer, my partner, and the fab staff at Olivia Newton Vaxx centre who cleared the place to make it happen. This is support at its best. #GetDisabledPeopleVaxxed
After the recent smh article about the appropriateness of #AHPs delivering mental health/eating disorder services, here is a lovely insight into what #occupationaltherapists can offer. @otaust@AustinHealthOT

There are many health professionals from different disciplines with the right expertise to support people experiencing an eating disorder. It is a professionals skills and expertise that matters, not their professional background. @otaust@ANZAED1@CEED_AU https://t.co/H4ZQ7PzoRO
Very important piece of work. At @AustinHealthOT we are very passionate about expert and appropriate assessment and training of MMD use. Looking forward to being involved in this work. #thisisot
The National Transport Commission (NTC) is proposing a policy to address the barriers in the Australian Road Rules that currently prevent the safe and legal use of Motorised Mobility Devices (MMDs). Input on OTA’s submission here: https://t.co/iaEYEQS0n8
Extremely disappointed to read Labor MP Mike Freelander say a social worker or occupational therapist should not be delivering psychological therapy to these patients. I invite MP Mike Freelander to develop his knowledge of occupational therapy @otaust
The SMH published ill-informed comments around the clinical support of those experiencing severe eating disorders. In response OTA distributed this media release to all major news outlets, defending the valuable role of OTs within multi-disciplinary teams: https://t.co/FJgqk69vAW
Great article @Keirwales. Important reminders of the role of OT to continually educate and inform others about the drivers of human occupations, of all sorts. #thisisOT
🌓 UNDERSTANDING DARK #OCCUPATIONS
"If you feel that alcoholics should just stop drinking, agoraphobics should just go out more or anorexics should just have a McDonalds, this probably isn’t the article for you."
A thought-provoking piece by @Keirwales: https://t.co/bxDtpH7Pzs
