In an RCT, Kho et al studied in-bed cycle ergometry to mitigate post-ICU weakness by comparing outcomes in ICU patients who were undergoing invasive mechanical ventilation and found that 30 minutes of cycling had no benefit on physical function when added to usual PT. 1/2
