VIDEO: Lagos govt commissions Odo Iya Alaro Bridge
The Odo Iya Alaro Bridge, previously closed for repairs by the Lagos State government, has now been officially commissioned.
The repairs, initially scheduled to take 90 days, were surprisingly completed in just 52 days.
Lagos State Deputy Governor, Obafemi Hamzat, conducted the commissioning on Monday, September 16.
The state Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, shared the update through a series of tweets on September 16.
He wrote: “Deputy Governor Dr Kadri Obafemi Hamzat set to open the Odo Iya Alaro Bridge in a moment of. The job was to take 90 days; it has taken 52 days. This is Lagos!”
In an update tweet, he wrote: “Odo Iya Alaro Bridge opened… 54 days after. Thank you Lagosians for your patience. A word for vandals - the manholes are fibre; it’s useless and foolish to remove them.”
