@orangestinkies Ace Attorney trilogy is paid upfront on Google Play, and I've seen several reviews state that they paid money for an app that unfortunately does not work on their device. Mobile support is much more complicated than PC, mac or iOS for little financial payoff outside of gacha.
@orangestinkies There are 2 problems with upfront cost:
- literally nobody looks at Google Play apps with an upfront cost, so it's a good way for your game to sell 5 copies in the span of a month
- buying a game without testing a demo first on Windows is relatively safe, not so much on mobile
@Animefanka I am seriously debating whether The Symbiant Re:Union should be paid upfront rather than "3 free scenes + pay to unlock the rest" just so me and Irlana don't have to read 14 years olds' opinions on how to monetise a game

If these reviews are any indication, the port from PC to mobile is very hit-or-miss from a mobile device to another.
Sometimes I think about how nonbinary people are stereotyped as shouting against anything "problematic" in fiction when in reality, they're the ones who are the least picky and will enjoy gore, noncon and other "unpallatable" tropes more than their cis counterpart.
@ebihimes In The Symbiant we added a couple of "choices" that had 0 effect except giving the player an achievement + added a few sequences where player can pick up to 3 questions to ask a character with, again, 0 story effect.
Just to avoid getting that complain. Somehow it worked.
@Kuroshitsune454 At the end of the day, EROLABS is a company and they're not going to pass up the opportunity to increase their revenue 2x or 5x just because some part of their fandom is toxic. Besides, it's not like they can do anything about these children --and it's not their responsibility.
Some of of you seem to be confused by Nu:Carnival team's decision to make a SFW version of a porn game.
By doing so, they can expand their reach to China, Germany and more recently, Korea which has been banning uncensored dicks left and right in the past couple years. (1/?)

@Severa929 I don't play the game so now I wonder: do the discord mods not have some rules in place to prevent abuse from minors? Stuff like adding their age in an intro post to get access to all channels and banning puritan behavior?
@Hnin_Ei_Cho China surprisingly doesn't ban gay content on Steam, but Google Play is banned in China altogether, probably same for App Store, though that doesn't stop Chinese citizen from region-hopping and still downloading these apps.
Not sure about Chinese equivalents of Gplay/iOS.
"But now children will be exposed to the game and then seek R18 content" look at me in the eyes and tell me YOU didn't seek out porn before your 18th witnessing of Earth's orbit around the Sun. Don't lie like that.
On Steam I've seen that happen too: porn game developers making a "family-friendly" version of their games just so Chinese players could buy it. That is how much weight Chinese players have in the market.
Nu:C will probably double or more their income from the SFW version. (4/4)
