@dpzmusic rock music is also how lots of ppl learn guitar (eg. back in black by ac/dc or smells like teen spirit by nirvana)

i don't know the specifics of your exact situation, but hopefully this helps. other than that, it just takes time and developing calluses to nullify the pain

@dpzmusic 1. learn CAGED open chords (use capo to transpose for now)
2. find songs with simple chords and strum patterns (eg. wonderwall by oasis)
3. focus on left hand/right hand separately and then at the same time w/o music. practice slowly
4. play along to the song
5. repeat step 3/4
