Renee Nicole Good is the second person who has been killed by ICE this week. In LA, ICE killed Keith Porter in his own home as he celebrated on New Year’s Eve.
The news has entirely failed to grasp the unprecedented scope of the ICE and DHS budgets. Nothing like it in modern history. An entire galaxy of public and private surveillance and caging institutions for $100,000,000,000s unleashed on a public that will be forever changed.
This is the worst that could happen. An estimated 250,000 people are trapped in El Fashir. 250,000 people who've been forcibly starved for months are now facing mass murder and ethnic cleaning because Sudanese people, Black people, Africans were given no protection and support.
Every Sudanese in Darfur is fighting literal extinction right now. A region larger than many countries & is being occupied by the UAE-RSF, a terrorist group with foreign mercenaries from over a dozen nationalities. Think ISIS terror but worse + with no global outcry
A new report from Brown University finds that America has spent $33 billion on Israel in the last 2 years.
That’s $45 million dollars EVERY. SINGLE. DAY.
That’s $4.85/day for every citizen of Israel.
The American taxpayers have sent EVERY citizen in Israel a $144 check, every month, for 24 months straight.
A family of 4 in Israel is receiving $577/month in subsidies, courtesy of the American taxpayer, for 2 years now.
Israelis still have free healthcare and free college and subsidized childcare. They haven’t reduced any of their social welfare programs.
Meanwhile Americans are literally paying for groceries with their credit cards. Same as they have been for almost 3 years.
Just incredible. The most outstanding example of direct action we have seen in our lifetimes. And in the face of a genocidal army. We should all take huge strength and inspiration
The genocide is accelerating. The world needs to act. Unions everywhere need to be following in the footsteps of Italian workers who have successfully pressured their government.
Look at No Other Land which won an Oscar, but what did that change for Palestinians? One co-director was beaten & detained after the win, another contributor was shot dead. Hollywood applauded, then moved on. Storytelling didn’t stop the violence. We need action, not applause.
