Fair point; you’re right that the manager’s job is to know his personnel. Still think this one is ultimately on Hoffman (no reliever should let up 5 ER in 1 inning). I’ll concede that by putting Hoffman in, Schneider was working with the thinnest margin for error. Blew up today.

@yyzsportsmedia 100% on Hoffman. It’s a 4 run lead with a clean inning. *Any* reliever in the MLB should be able to get through that inning. And while he’s struggled, he’s objectively a major league quality reliever. He didn’t deliver today, it’s on him.

@mikeinboston Yes. AA also emptied the cupboards to get to 2015. While not the best pipeline in the majors by any means, there’s a lot of young talent on the Jays anchored by Vladdy. Two very different situations, but both regimes reached the same peak (so far).
