Big shift in Texas. UT poll shows Talarico going from +8 in April (42-34) to -1 now (42-43).
Why? Paxton consolidated the GOP.
In April, Paxton got 63% of GOP voters, with 10% going to Talarico.
Now, Paxton gets 84%, with 5% for Talarico.
Talarico still leads big w/ indies.
New piece about why tech companies issuing tons of new stock - both via IPOs and offerings like the ones from Google and Oracle - should make you worried about the market. When companies are selling lots of stock, they're sending a message. Pay attention.

For what it's worth, I think it will be nearly impossible to pass an $80B war supplemental outside of reconciliation. Democrats are never going to vote for this thing. I honestly don't know what they are thinking.
Is diplomacy better than nothing? Of course. But reality is Iran closes the strait when it pleases and we just gave them a huge concession in selling their oil on the open market. Rolled back 40 years of restrictions!
And some of that money goes to fund terrorist ground like Hezbollah. There’s a reason nearly 70% of Americans say this war wasn’t worth the massive 132 billion dollar price tag.
Anthony Edwards is someone teams are keeping an eye on:
“Ant was really frustrated throughout. He’s really just been frustrated since Towns got traded at how he gets double-teamed.”

Sam’s mock (full of intel) would have the Lakers choosing between two players multiple rival execs believe they have interest in - Duke’s Isaiah Evans and Arizona’s Koa Peat.
The Heat finally landed their whale. Now comes the hard part. @MichaelVPina on what Giannis means for Miami—and what questions still need answers: https://t.co/2UfmykPxAk
@AndrewCurran_@XiXiDu If AI is the answer to your lack of humanity or human connection, you need to spend more time having real connections with other people. Isn’t it wonderful to feel again? Because of AI? That is an incredibly unhealthy perspective.
Gavin Newsom has lost a lot of ground in Democratic primary polls.
It's maybe not any one thing, though Ossoff isn't helping. Conspicuously embracing Biden is a weird choice too.
More fundamentally, he's the avatar of a Democratic establishment that voters want to move beyond.
- 45yo patient complains of difficulty breathing
- X-ray and ECG don't point to clear diagnosis
- he's sent home
- AI-enabled scan detects severe heart damage
- follow-up echocardiogram shows severe heart problems
- doctors perform heart transplant, conclude he might have died suddenly
Great story.
Unlike many promises in AI and medicine—many of which are either over-sold or hard to evaluate, bc AI-enabled drug discoveries can take years for clinical trials to establish efficacy—AI-enhanced diagnostics feels like more of a right-here/right-now phenomenon. The success stories are rare enough for now that most of them get written up in Nature and the NYT, but I think this is a great early frontier for AI and medicine, despite the risks of false positives, over-scanning, over-spending on safe edge cases, etc
