Grammy CEO Harvey Mason Jr. has responded to BTS’ decision not to submit for the 2027 awards.
“I am saddened to hear that BTS has chosen not to participate in the Grammy Awards process this year, but as a music creator, I understand and respect their decision. I do want to clarify something that seems to be getting lost in the conversation. The Asian Pop category was created to celebrate the depth, diversity and extraordinary growth of pop artistry coming out of Asia. The spirit of this new category is to shine a dedicated spotlight on these important artists. More categories mean more artists’ work is recognized. It’s never to divide, but to expand who is recognized by our 15,000 Grammy voters..."

it takes an incredible amount of courage, even sadness, to realise that a dream is no longer a dream because its very foundation is rotten.
some people spend their entire lives chasing something, and when they finally discover it’s built on prejudice, unfairness, and flawed values, they don’t know how to walk away. BTS did.
I deeply admire their strength to let go of something they once dreamed of because they recognised it no longer represented what they believed in. they could have won their first grammy, but they chose integrity, conviction, respect for music and their peers instead.
that choice says more about their character than any trophy ever could.
Eles nunca mais vão ganhar um Grammy, mas ninguém vai poder dizer que eles imploram por mijo americano ou coisa assim, acabaram de escancarar o racismo e o quão podre é a academia e esnobaram bonito, pirocudos sim kkk
i dont think y’all realize how fucking cool it is to just openly announce you are not submitting for the grammys because of their mistreatment. it takes a lot to have that kind of courage. they said FUCK that racist organization. BTS are truly the most inspiring artists ever
