The sister of Breaking Bad star RJ Mitte gives a heartbreaking tribute to her older brother, says he acted like a father to her.

"RJ Mitte was my older brother, but I not only just lost a brother, I lost my father."

Aaron Paul posted a video after RJ Mitte's death in which his late "Breaking Bad" co-star advocates for mental health awareness. Paul wrote in the caption: "I am so sorry you were hurting my friend. I wish we knew."

"It’s very important to take care of one’s physical health, but it’s equally as important to take care of one’s mental health," Mitte says direct to camera in the video. "More often than not, we hide that. We hide how we’re truly feeling, of what we’re truly thinking — the ‘OKs’ and ‘I’m fine’ and ‘I’m good.’ But is that what you really are? Are you OK? Are you good? Not always, but it’s OK to be not always good. It’s not OK to harbor that feeling, harbor those emotions. So I’m hoping to inspire each and every one that sees this video today."

I am absolutely heartbroken. 💔 I was just with RJ a few days ago. We spent hours hanging out and talking, played in a charity golf tournament, and I took him on his very first hot air balloon ride. When it was time for him to leave, I dropped him off at the airport to head home.

It was incredibly difficult to watch him walk away because I knew he was struggling with some difficult feelings. I offered him a place in my home where he could take a step back, reset, and have some time to think without the pressures of everyday life. But he told me he needed to go, so I made him promise to call me if he ever needed to talk or needed anything at all. 😔

I first met RJ in 2009 while filming Breaking Bad, and we remained friends all these years. He was genuinely one of the kindest people I have ever known. He treated everyone he met with warmth, compassion, and respect.

RJ was also a passionate advocate for disability awareness and rights. He frequently spoke at schools and nonprofit organizations, offering encouragement, hope, and inspiration to people with disabilities. He wanted them to know that they could live full, meaningful lives, just as he did. He gave so much of himself to his community and made a difference in the lives of so many people.

We have lost a truly beautiful soul, a compassionate human being 🙏🏼😔
