Because I can't attend FOSDEM this year, I wrote down some thoughts about the microkernel community. https://t.co/V80DDfNFR6 #fosdem #microkernel

1987: It was disclosed that members of The Chaos Computer Club had hacked NASA’s SPAN network, then installed a backdoor and password grabber.

Totally relevant for all programmers.

@hsultan75 How the recent arrest warrants by the ICC are not frontpage news is beyond me. CNN has it if you scroll down. Fox News has nothing?

He cites the bible to justify annexing southern Lebanon. Wtf. https://t.co/z1z3rvdSar #israel #lebanon #war

@odinthenerd I imagine some politely worded corporate backstabbing. 😂 Well, a good breakdown of civilization can get rid of weird rules from the past. It would be nice if there was a better way though.

If you are disillusioned by @TheAtlantic's one sided coverage of the war in Gaza/Lebanon, but otherwise enjoy long form journalism, what do you subscribe to? The guardian?

[Julian Stecklina @blitzclone]

@odinthenerd After watching the election, the one thing the US needs most is a proportional election system where your "third candidate" votes are not ignored. These violent flips of power even though only 10% of votes changed is weird. Also approval voting for president would be great.

[Julian Stecklina @blitzclone]

@odinthenerd The republican party transformed itself drastically from Reason via Sarah Palin to Trump. I'm pretty sure Reagan would be cancelled now by his party just as Romney and Cheney were. You have to follow the cult of personality or you're out.

This is a great paper on the status of remote attestation of confidential VMs in public clouds. tl;dr None allow you to verify that you run the OS you think you do. Shoutout to AWS for a reproducible build of their firmware! https://t.co/vMbkpe54u5 #tdx #sev #aws #azure #gcp

[Julian Stecklina @blitzclone]

@13erbse @GabrielKerneis Yes that's why. It feels like running a Linux VM and an SGX enclave inside it.

[Julian Stecklina @blitzclone]

@13erbse @GabrielKerneis If you squint your eyes a bit this feels like SGX again. Just with a much larger TCB?
