Interior generated over $14 billion last year from energy and mineral development on public lands and waters, making it one of the largest sources of non-tax revenue for the U.S. government.
A significant portion goes directly to the @USTreasury, with the rest benefiting states, tribes, and conservation efforts. From oil and gas to minerals and geothermal energy, these resources fuel our economy!

Did you know? More than 53 drone incursions occurred near wildfires nationwide in 2025 alone. Unauthorized drones create serious risks for first responders and can force firefighting aircraft to stop operations.
Capturing wildfire footage may be tempting, but flying a drone near a wildfire puts firefighters and aviation crews at risk of a catastrophic collision.
As wildfire activity increases, help protect our firefighters, aircraft, and public lands by keeping drones away from wildfires.

Hey parents! Did you know your fourth-grade student is eligible for an annual pass to America’s public lands? With school almost out for the summer, it's the perfect time to get the pass.
The Every Kid Outdoors pass allows fourth graders and their families to receive free entrance to federal public lands and waters during their fourth grade school year (September-August).
To do this, log on to https://t.co/GdWaK4eRAF with your student, complete an activity and then download and print your pass voucher. Redeem the printed voucher for the pass at thousands of federal public land sites throughout the country.
Public lands stewardship goes beyond policy. It’s boots on the ground, trash bags in hand, and teams working together to protect the places we share.
This Earth Day, staff from the Bureau of Land Management rolled up their sleeves across Alabama’s coast and wetlands to clear marine debris at historic Fort Morgan and restore trails at the Fowl River Access Site. Their work helped protect wildlife habitats, improve public access, and preserve ecosystems for future generations.

Nearly 85% of wildfires in the United States are caused by people and preventable.
As you head outdoors to camp, hike, and gather around the fire, let’s keep safety part of the adventure.
🔥 Check local fire restrictions before lighting a fire.
🔥Keep fires small and never leave them unattended.
🔥Clear dry grass and debris around the fire ring.
🔥Keep water and a shovel nearby.
🔥Drown, stir, and feel the ashes before leaving. If it’s too hot to touch, it’s too hot to leave.
This Memorial Day, we honor and remember the courageous souls who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. Their bravery inspires us to appreciate the beauty of our public lands, where we can reflect and find peace.
In celebration, enjoy a fee-free day at our public lands! Whether you're hiking, camping, or simply soaking in the tranquility, please recreate responsibly:
🌳 Pack out what you pack in
🌳 Stay on designated trails
🌳 Respect wildlife and fellow visitors
America’s public lands are more than destinations. They're inspiration. 📸🌄
