@BumpkinEsq Which doesn’t hold weight. Lindsay clancy debatably had a severe mental illness, which is why people come to her defense (except for true crime dumbasses).
@BumpkinEsq I already corrected myself, but the state would still be able to prove Patrick clancys guilt in your hypothetical. State law excludes bouts of rage from the definition of a lack of criminal responsibility
@BumpkinEsq@FATMAC2_ I confused mass state law with my states’, which was dumb, but again I’m right to say your initial hypothetical doesn’t transpose to the situation
@BumpkinEsq Edit cuz I don’t have x premium. I was wrong in the fact that mass places burden of proof on the state rather than the defendant. Rest of the point still stands
@BumpkinEsq It requires a diagnosable illness that prevents a person from understanding their wrongdoing. Rage/shock are normal human emotions that don’t exonerate someone from a crime. It has a high burden of proof, and a defendant testimony means essentially nothing if not corroborated
@squelchative@DangervilleTeam@TheTumboy I’m not denying her lack of autonomy, I’m saying that the willow could’ve done anything OTHER than have her get possessed by an evil demon that doesn’t know how to walk or operate in society
@squelchative@DangervilleTeam@TheTumboy All I’m saying is that it’d make a lot more sense if it was a cursed wishing tool. If it was objective, it’d do whatever he said to the tee no matter its moral standing. Also have billions of dollars appear out of nowhere absolutely affects others
@squelchative@DangervilleTeam@TheTumboy But the director specified it wasn’t a monkey paw cursed thing. If it was a straightforward wishing device, it wouldn’t have a moral agenda to enforce
@NoNotReallyX@thechurchsplit They mean more to me than they do to you. It’s tragic, but the best way to honor their memory isn’t to kill their poor, sick mother
@Howie_Roastman@BumpkinEsq Compounding with her preexisting postpartum illnesses, medication changes could absolutely push her over the edge into psychosis
@Howie_Roastman@BumpkinEsq I’m claiming that your proposed motive is unreasonable. Other possible motives for murder exist (sadism, sexual satisfaction, terrorism) that Lindsay Clancy shows no signs of adhering to.
@Howie_Roastman@BumpkinEsq Nobody is walking. You think they just drop em off on the sidewalk? A lifelong containment at a mental hospital wouldn’t surprise me for her. There is a high burden of proof for insanity to protect against that exact scenario you are fearing
@Howie_Roastman@BumpkinEsq You are creating a ridiculously stupid caricature of her to fit the motive you want. She did not make a pragmatic decision to end her stress. If she was being pragmatic, she wouldn’t commit a triple homicide. You yourself admit she planned it too. Not a sporadic meltdown
