Replaying Deltarune and chapter 3 might actually be the best chapter. It’s one of those chapters that gets better every playthrough, and the amount of subtext in every line of dialogue is so so good. I also feel like it has a lot of foreshadowing that we won’t get until later.
Not to mention. It also has by far the best gameplay of any chapter. The boards and mini games are mostly really fun. The only part of the chapter I kind of dread is the rouxls fight.
I know it’s an unpopular opinion, but FRIEND is definitely Eram, Mike, or connected to the knight. If you play through the game even believing one of these theories is true, it recontextualizes the game in such an awesome way. Especially if multiple are true.
@dessriel I am definitely the most excited for Friend. I know it’s still totally possible for him to end up being kind of irrelevant but idk, he’s so fascinating with him seemingly being at the center of everything. If Asgore really is looking for friend, he’s just like me fr.
I should specify that I don’t 100% think this is true, but would really enjoy it if it were. I can totally understand why other people wouldn’t be happy with this though. I think it has potential though to be executed really well.
@Floradinn0624 I always believed friend to be more of a symbiotic parasite to Dess which creates the knight. Dess is still 100% in control of her will and actions, friend is just her tool to do so. That’s why it’s called “Friend”. Also why the knight and friend share the same laugh.
Now of course it would be evil Gaster tail of hell depths behind the scenes, but I think our first impression will be a calming landscape. I also picture the knight taking the form of Dess here to lull us deeper into its trap.
I’ve always pictured it being this beautiful paradise. The idea of a shelter is to protect its inhabitants from harm, why would its setting be scary then? If the shelter is supposed to embody the idea of escapism in the literal sense, it should be as appealing as possible.
